Added Sugar Health Risks for Kids

Theresa Santoro · 12 June 2017 ·

Ahhhhhh… the great sugar debate.  We all know how bad it is for us as adults, but for children, it is wreaking all sorts of havoc on their wellbeing.  There is hidden sugar in just about everything and you can’t always control that, but you can control the amount of sugar you openly choose to give your kid on a daily basis.  When was the last time you looked at the sugar content of the juice you are about to give your kid?  Or the 3rd or 4th juice box of the day?  Turn if over and just look at the sugar number…  I will wait …  Did you see a number as low as 13 grams per serving on the “40percent less sugar” box, or did you see the 24 grams per serving on a regular juice box?  There is no debating that we can do better by our kids when it comes to sugar.  Here is a great article to get you started on cutting down the sugar your kids are ingesting on a daily basis.  According to this article, our kids eat three times too much sugar!
