EVERY 15 MINUTES – DRUNK DRIVING AWARENESS
WARNING: SENSITIVE MATERIAL CONTAINING ACCIDENT SCENE RE-ENACTMENT PHOTOGRAPHY. This movie is a complete 2009 re-enactment of a drunk driving accident involving teens. NO TEENS WERE HARMED OR ARRESTED IN THIS RE-ENACTMENT. Every 15 Minutes is a 2-day program to educate juniors and seniors in high school of the dangers of driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol. Teens are counseled through the two-day process, and all make-up is done by an award-winning Hollywood makeup artist. No students are harmed. This program takes place in high schools all across America through the cooperation of local law enforcement, fire departments, and school boards.
I shot this series in 2009, with my then college undergrad daughter, Alexandra. I have had the privilege of shooting three Every Fifteen Minute Programs. And I can honestly say, they get me every single time. Please watch this movie first, and then share it with your teens. Especially, if they are learning to drive, and will soon have access to your keys. It is uncomfortable, but it is 100 percent a re-enactment. The makeup artist is award winning, and although what he does looks authentic, the kids wash it off at the end of staging. What is real however, is the mangled red car, and two lives that were lost. A mother and her boyfriend. Her daughter works with MADD, and shares her story of loss. If your school does not have this program, find a way to get it. Ours is done every two years through our amazing Irvine Police Department. The Grim Reaper is a DARE officer who teaches young children about the dangers of drugs. He is a tall imposing man, that as an officer of the law would scare anyone…But when it comes to children, he is the closest man to God, I have met outside of a priest. He walks his talk, and his mission in life is to keep your kids and mine safe on the streets, and away from the dangers of drugs and alcohol. You can find out more about the program here Every 15 Minutes. Please feel free to share this video with other teens and young adults. Grab a tissue, and watch… Every 15 Minutes
