Curated Life of a YouTube Social Media Icon

Theresa Santoro · 13 June 2017 ·

Curated Life

This illustration portrays a story of ultimate YouTube success, and the need to walk away.

Our kids are deeply enmeshed in the life of social media.  It starts young, and it seems everyone has a YouTube page. Some, just for fun, and other seeking that elusive million dollar follower mark.  Carefully curated lives of perfection.  A fantasy if you will.  In this story, the author speaks about how money bought her everything but happiness, and how she recognized at one point that the “real” her, and the “youtube” her were strangers.   This youtube message is a beautifully illustrated honest story to share and discuss with your teens.   In our world of “reality” everything, it is important to know that it is usually scripted and curated.
